Gas Prices Continue to Fall

Gas Prices Continue to Fall

When gasoline prices were climbing like a rocket, we touched on the topic several times on this site, wondering how the rising prices were affecting you and your driving and spending habits.

Now, prices for gas are dropping like a rock, tumbling to prices of a year ago. There are even some places reportedly having gas wars, with prices reported in some areas below $2.00 a gallon!

The declines come as hurricane season winds down and oil prices drop over concerns that a prolonged economic slump would curb demand for energy.

Have you seen any of these crazy (below $2.00) prices anywhere? We'd love to hear about it. And tell us what you think is really causing prices to drop so dramatically all of a sudden after peaking at over $4.00 a gallon just a few months ago.  Click the comment link below this article and sound off. Yes.. I've seen gas prices as low as $1.86 in Georgetown SC the other day when I was passing through. Prices around Columbia don't seem to be dropping quite as fast as they are along the coast… but hey… I'll take 'em now versus 4 or 5 months ago!! Thanks for the great website! George.
